My Story
I am a Practitioner Psychologist (HCPC registered) with extensive experience of working with complexity across NHS services, prison settings and secure hospitals. My background in forensic psychology means I am trained to work with high risk and multi-layered presentations, using structured, formulation led approaches to make sense of peoples difficulties in a clear, compassionate, and evidence based way.
I am formally trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), holding a Postgraduate Diploma, awarded with Merit. I deliver CBT in line with recognised professional standards and receive regular accredited supervision. I have also attended accredited training in EMDR and schema therapy and am working towards full EMDR accreditation.
Not everyone who advertises CBT has completed the specialist postgraduate training required to deliver this safely and effectively. My training is accredited, externally regulated and delivered within my HCPC-registered scope of practice. I encourage clients to choose a therapist who has completed formal and accredited training in the modalities that they offer. A psychology qualification alone does not guarantee specialist therapy training and you should feel confident in the standard of care that you receive.
