Terms and Conditions for Pardoe Psychology

1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between Pardoe Psychology (“we”, “us”, “our”) and the client (“you”). By engaging in psychological therapy, psychological assessment, or forensic assessment services, you agree to these terms.
2. Nature of Services
We provide:
• Psychological therapy
• Psychological assessments
• Forensic risk assessments
• Solicitor, or local authority instructed evaluations
• Supervision
Therapy and forensic assessments have different purposes, processes, and confidentiality boundaries, which will be explained clearly at the outset.
3. Professional Standards
All services are delivered in accordance with:
• Professional regulatory standards (HCPC)
• Ethical guidelines
• Applicable data protection laws
• Evidence‑based practice
4. Confidentiality
4.1 Therapy
Therapy sessions are confidential except where:
• There is a risk of serious harm to you or others
• There are safeguarding concerns
• Information is required by law
• You consent to information sharing
4.2 Forensic Assessments
Confidentiality is more limited. Information may be shared with:
• Courts
• Solicitors
• Probation services
• Police
• Statutory agencies (e.g., MAPPA)
You will be informed of these limits before the assessment begins.
5. Fees and Payment
• Fees will be confirmed in writing before work begins.
• Payment is due at the time of booking for therapy sessions or supervision, and within 28 days of invoice for forensic assessments.
• Your therapy session is not confirmed until payment has been made.
6. Cancellations and Missed Appointments
6.1 Therapy
• Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at the full session fee.
• Missed appointments are also charged in full.
6.2 Assessments
• Assessment appointments require 24 hours notice for cancellation.
• If the client cancels or fails to attend, there will be a charge for travel costs (if appropriate) and waiting time.
7. Reports and Documentation
7.1 Therapy
Therapy does not routinely include written reports. If you request one, additional fees may apply.
7.2 Forensic Assessments
• Reports are based on clinical interviews, psychometric testing, collateral information, and professional judgement.
• Reports are provided only to the instructing party unless otherwise agreed or legally required.
• You may not alter or distribute reports without permission.
• We reserve the right to decline requests that compromise professional standards or objectivity.
8. Use of Psychological Tests
Psychometric tests are used in accordance with:
• Publisher guidelines
• Professional standards
• Legal and ethical requirements
Raw test data may only be released to qualified professionals.
9. Record Keeping
We maintain secure records in line with:
• Professional guidelines
• Legal requirements
• Data protection legislation
Records are retained for the required period and then securely destroyed.
10. Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains:
• What information we collect
• How it is used
• How it is stored
• Your rights under data protection law
You will receive a copy of the Privacy Policy before starting services.
11. Communication
We may communicate with you via:
• Phone
• Secure digital platforms
Email cannot be guaranteed as fully secure; please avoid sending sensitive information unless necessary.
12. Professional Boundaries
We maintain clear professional boundaries at all times. This includes:
• No dual relationships
• No contact outside agreed communication channels
• No social media interactions
13. Suitability for Therapy
We reserve the right to:
• Decline therapy if it is not clinically appropriate
• Refer you to alternative services
• End therapy if boundaries are repeatedly breached or risk escalates beyond our remit
14. Termination of Services
Either party may end therapy or assessment work with reasonable notice.
For forensic assessments, termination may not be possible once instructed, depending on legal obligations.

16. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for:
• Decisions made by third parties based on our reports
• Outcomes of legal proceedings
• Actions taken by clients outside the therapeutic or assessment context
Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
